Julia's Birth Philosophy:

With the birth of my 4 beautiful children and the certified Doula course I've taken, I have been able to fully understand how a woman's body can naturally birth her baby and provide an empowering experience. As a Doula, I strive to help encourage women to embrace labour and birth as the natural process it is and always has been. My goal is to help her obtain the birth experience she longs for and also support her when her birth plan changes. I also believe the role of the partner is extremely important for themselves and labouring mom. Therefore I will be there to inform each and provide emotional, and physical support during the labour and birth process creating a bond between the two parents unlike any other. I look forward to helping families create glorious memories that will last a lifetime .

Teilya Kiely
Teilya studied and became a doula through the DONA certified program offered at Grant MacEwan Community College in 2005 with Jody. Teilya is not currently accepting clients.

Teilya's Birth Philosophy:

Birth is one of the most memorable moments in a woman’s life and can be extremely empowering. Labour is hard work but it is work that uniquely belongs to women. Having had two amazing and empowering births myself has led me to a passionate belief in each woman’s ability to birth her baby. My intent is to help all women recognize their bodies are made for the work of giving birth. All women deserve a fabulous, enjoyable birth experience. I hope you will look back at age 90 and say, “I had an amazing birth. I'm so glad I had my doula!”

Jody Gotell
Jody studied to become a doula through the DONA certified course offered at Grant MacEwan Community College in April 2005 with Teilya. She is currently accepting clients for hospital, shared care facilities and home births.

Jody's Birth Philosophy:

I had two wonderful births in hospital with a six year span between the two. I was able to see how much can change within such a short time span and I believe women today are changing the way women in the future will be giving birth. It is my belief that we can make birthing into the wonderful experience it is intended to be through the continual care of an experienced helper. My goal is to work with you, your partner, your caregiver and the staff to help you have a respectful, empowering, and supported birth.
